Acquired. 😃 Looking forward to playing with this. I'm not clear on why a desktop app would be necessary with Pixelmator Pro.

I have previously purchased the iPad version and I still saw the price on the purchase button.
However, when I actually purchased the iPhone version, it didn't charge my credit card. In other words, the download is indeed free.

Fantastic. Pixelmator Photo has been my iPad editor of choice for when I'm taking photos away from my laptop, and this will only make it more useful.

A more photo-centric workflow would be one of the reasons, would be my guess. The ability to work on large volumes of images at a time, without having to import them. In-app batch processing, too!

Just how it should be! ;)

Yay! Hope you'll have fun and make use of that, even more, increased portability. :)

The editing tools on Pixelmator Photo looked very much like the ones in Pixemator Pro on Mac. For a second I thought "what if the changes I do here carry over to the Mac via iCloud and I can continue where I left off from my iPhone?" I tried this out, but I did not work - the changes carried over like usual, but upon opening the Pixelmator Pro extension in Photos on the Mac, the editing tools were reset to zero.

I think that would have been an awesome feature - being able to start off on your iPhone and continue editing in the Pixelmator Pro extension in Photos on the Mac. Is this impossible, or are you considering offering this down the road?

The app is fantastic! Any chance of adding skin smoothing and face adjustment tools?

We'll need to work out all the potential interoperability questions in the future, but for now, our focus is on bringing Pixelmator Photo to the Mac and making that experience as awesome as possible.

Possibly further down the line! We're all set for things to do for the next 12 months or so, so if this does come, it will be in the longer-term future.

Do you mean you're seeing Photo instead of Pixelmator Photo? If so, that's because the name is a little too long for the home screen, unfortunately. If there's a localization issue, feel free to share it with us at support@pixelmator.com!

Not for me.

This is a super weird App Store bug – you have to actually go through the payment step to get the app for free. Once you confirm the payment, an alert will appear saying you have a previous version of the app so you can download it for free. Apologies for the inconvenience but it's unfortunately totally out of our hands...

Hello

The application looks promising.

Could you please explain how your ML Enhance differs from Apple Photos autoenhance? Is it better, why?
I tend to rely on autoenhance as a starting point for my workflow. And I wonder if Pixelmator would give me a plus over Photos.

Regards,
Carlos

Our auto-enhance algorithm is machine learning-powered and we feel it provides much better white balance correction and a more neutral starting point than the one in the Photos app. In terms of white balance and color correction (as opposed to enhancement), we've measured it in the past and with our dataset, Pixelmator Pro performed much better, i.e. it neutralized any color casts more frequently and accurately than Photos did. The Photos app is oriented more toward creative enhancement, so you might like that too, but our goal is to give you the best starting point for making your own adjustments. If you'd like to try it out, you can check out Pixelmator Pro (if you have a Mac, of course) and we have a free trial available here: https://www.pixelmator.com/pro/free-trial/

I don't believe we've changed anything when it comes to the White Balance adjustment. Is the adjustment itself missing for you or something else?

Great job, Devs! Working excellent on m iPhone XS with iOS 15.2 and really easy using!
I'd be really happy about a "clarity"-tool like in Lightroom.

EDIT:
BTW: The tool for the vignette is usually missing - you can only use if you already use a filter who uses. Please fix!

Can we have our made presets like on a cloud service or something? Like if we delete the app (by accident or something) we won’t have to worry about it also deleting our filters.

The gray point eyedropper isn't really missing — we've just moved it to the White Balance adjustment menu. If you tap the adjustment name, you'll find the eyedropper in the menu.

Thanks, glad to hear you're enjoying Pixelmator Photo! Clarity adjustment is in the works. As for the Vignette adjustment, you should be able to customize your list of adjustments to show it by default. You can learn how in this Pixelmator Photo user guide section https://www.pixelmator.com/support/guide/pixelmator-photo/700/.

Makes sense! I've forwarded your suggestion to the team. :ok_hand:

Great! But when will you support 10-bit or 16-bit HEIF export in Pixelmater Photo app, and make better use of HDR screen on iPad Pro and iPhone 12/13 Pro to show brighter and more gradient of colors in photo album?

Here's hoping for Mac universal app. Would LOVE to edit my pics using Pixelmator Photo on my M1 Mac (easier organisation / workflow, larger screen estate).

Amazing apps. using them on both iPad, iPhone.

best,

I bought this. Looks good so far, would love more lightroom-like features! (masking, luminance v hue sliders)
