How can I adjust the image size to the canvas size. In other words, the dimensions of the image must be the same as that of the canvas.
The intention is that I can print the photo on A4 size.

I'd say grab an A4 size template (File > New), then insert your image as a new layer and adjust it to size using the Free Transform tool (Command + T). If the image is smaller than the canvas, you can use the ML Super Resolution algorithm when scaling to compensate for stretched pixels.

With the Free Transform tool, the entire section becomes smaller, but I just want to remove a part of the image and then the image does not adapt to the A4 size.

Ah, OK, so you essentially have an image you need to crop and then fit into an A4 canvas? Am I understanding this correctly?

Yes indeed. The purpose of A4 is to print the image in this format.

Then you probably don't even need the Transform tool. See if the following steps work for you:

1. Choose File > New
2. In the Templates, select the A4 paper size
3. Choose Insert > Choose to insert an image from your Mac, or Insert > Photos to insert an image from Photos
4. Using the Arrange tool (V), resize and position the image so that only the part you want to print is visible on the canvas. You may need to zoom out of the image to see its layer handles in order to resize:
