I just downloaded PixPro upgrading from Pix Classic and I cannot add any shapes. I try to drag my new shape from the separate layer it is in to the shapes bar and it doesn't work. The "add preset" option is grayed out. The "+" option in the collections is grayed out as well. Any suggestions?

Works here. Is the layer selected?

I believe so. It is highlighted on the layers column. When I drag it from there, nothing happens.

I believe the workflow is to draw your shape (or generate it via Format->Convert into Shape) - with it selected and the Shape tab open hit the "+" button to add it to the Preset library:

Okay. I understand this workflow I think, but here's what I did. I have a file of shapes that I found that I wanted to add. Of course, it was only available in a .jpg file. So i took the auto select tool, highlighted one shape at a time, created a new layer for each, and was using those layers to try to drag into a new shape field. I think now what you're saying is it has to be converted into an actual shape layer first, is this correct?

I don't have a "convert to shape" option under my "format" menu. As in... it's just not even there.

Yes.

Strange - can you post a screenshot of that Format menu?

SparkyLey, if any of the selection tools are active, you can also Control-click inside the selection to see the Convert into Shape option:

It's very important that a selection tool is active when you do this, otherwise, you'll see options for other tools in that contextual menu.

Well ladies... Just so you know, I'm very very appreciative to you for trying to help me here as I'm completely lost. Here are screen shots of what I'm seeing. Image Image

Can we see this selected object in the layers panel please? Seems this is probably a layered PSD file or group.

Absolutely. I know it's definitely something that I'm doing wrong. Image

It seems you´re just having the layer selected - this will only result in a rectangular shape.
If you want that circular form as a shape you´ll need to select it for instance with Quick Selection - then go Format->Convert into Shape:

The result:

Can you try this?
