Filename using date-time format gets truncated on export

Is something not working like it should? Let us know.

I am not sure if this is more of a request than a bug, but for me this behavior feels like a bug....

The problem is as follows:

For all my photo's I use a uniform date-time naming convention, YYYY-MM-DD HH.MM.SS (generated by Lightroom upon export). So for example, the resulting filename is: 2020-04-19 16.12.07.jpg

If I edit this example file in Pixelmator Pro and export it again, Pixelmator suggests saving the file as 2020-04-19 16.12. So the name gets truncated, the last part of the name, the seconds, I have to enter manually again.

I think the suggested name should be the full original filename. Or is this a macOS limitation (too many ".")?

Thanks for any help on this.

Hi Michael, this is indeed a bug and a known one but it doesn't have a simple solution, unfortunately. It's been logged, though and we'll do our best to fix it in future updates!

:pensive: Too bad, under Big Sur, for me this problem is back again... Can anyone confirm this? & Can it be fixed again?

Are you running Pixelmator Pro 2.0.8 on your Mac? If not, could you update and see if that helps?

Just fired up Pixelmator Pro to see that it was updated to 2.0.8 and... yes problem solved! Great ;-)
