I had the exact same experience. I was able to resolve this by reverting to the previous version using Time Machine. The version on the App Store does need amending so it works still on High Sierra, in my view (that’s the version that the Classic version is supposed to work on).

Sadly my Mac won’t run anything later than High Sierra…

Good day. Same problem here. I use it almost every day.

Hey everyone. Pixelmator Classic 3.9.2 is, indeed, the last version available on macOS 10.13 but there's been an issue with the Mac App Store allowing to install it on incompatible systems. We've pushed a fix to the App Store today. For anyone with macOS 10.13 who has already updated, please drop us a line at support@pixelmator.com and we'll help you roll back to the previous, compatible Pixelmator version.

Update: To revert back to version 3.9.2 you can now delete the current copy of Pixelmator Classic and redownload a fresh one from the list of your purchased apps on the Mac App Store.

Hey Jeffrey! If you're using Pixelmator on an iPad, this probably means you already have Pixelmator for iOS? Or is it Pixelmator Photo?

A bit late to the party but I'm still on a mid-2010 iMac which I can't upgrade beyond 10.13.
Up till now I was happy using the ancient Pixelmator 1.6.5, but after some OS updates, it's not working anymore. In the app store I can only get 3.9.9 which doesn't support 10.13.
Is there any way I can purchase & download the last version that works on 10.13?

The last version you're eligible for with Pixelmator Classic 1.6.5 license is version 1.6.8. Pixelmator Classic 2.0 was a paid upgrade for when we moved to the Mac App Store. V1.6.8 is, indeed, a very old version of the app, and it probably won't run smoothly on macOS High Sierra. If you'd still like to get the update, you can email us at support@pixelmator.com and we'll send it through.

I'm happy to pay for an upgraded version, but then I would need to be able to pay and download the latest version (2.x or even 3.x) that still runs under High Sierra. Is that an option?

That's not really an option, I'm afraid. We don't support older Pixelmator versions or have a place where you could download them. :grimacing:

Damn, so I can not use Pixelmator anymore unless I upgrade a perfectly working mac? :(
I'll mail to support for the 1.6.8 then and hope it does more then my currently broke 1.6.5

I have a Macbook Pro 2011 on 12.6. I can´t use Pixelmator Pro cause doesn't compatible with Metal. And I can't use Text Tool with Pixelmator Classic. Any solution?

Classic Pixelmator seems to finally be glitching out on Sonoma 14.1.1. Trying to scroll around an image causes it to blur and trace out. I have a Pixelmator Pro license, but it's just not as good as the real app. Any ideas on fixing the scroll glitch? Or has the day finally come when I have to give up and commit to something else?
