Importing image

I just noticed that when I import an image, it looks kind of dull. Is there something I can do to avoid this? Here's what I mean. Original on left.

Hey there, how are you opening that image in Pixelmator? Simply via File > Open, or from Photos using the Image > Edit With feature or some other way?
