I was going to purchase Pixelmator Pro but I am running macOS Sierra. I refuse to upgrade to macOS High Sierra 10.13. Please support Sierra 10.12.

Hi rlaferla.
If I had to guess, I suspect the reason they don't (and can't) support Sierra is that they're using the Metal 2 graphics API to do some of their crazy GPU-powered stuff. Metal 2 was introduced as a part of High Sierra.
Besides, Pixelmator Pro just launched — their 1.0 still has a lot of issues that need to be sorted out (as is typical of a 1.0 for an ambitious program like Pixelmator Pro).
By the time you're ready to upgrade to High Sierra, Pixelmator Pro will likely be much more stable and usable — at which point, you'll get to fully enjoy the many benefits without enduring these early bumps. Until then, keep going with your current graphic program.
I hope that helps.
