'Export for web' converts to sRGB even if unselected (?)

Is something not working like it should? Let us know.

Hi guys!

I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or if it's a bug. I'm trying to export an image (16Bits/Channel, color profile Display P3) that has a pure teal color –#008080 (RGB 0, 128, 128)–. If I export it to PNG via File -> Export… it keeps said color, no prob. If I try using Export for Web it changes it to something else –#388080 (RGB 56, 128, 128)–, even if I've unselected the hidden 'Convert to sRGB' option.

Am I doing something wrong, or is Export for Web for something else I'm not grasping? Thanks in advance!

Hey there. I attempted to recreate a situation where such a color shift would occur but haven't noticed any issues... If you still happen to have the document where this issue exists, it would be great if you could share it with us at support@pixelmator.com. We'll take a look!

Hi there Aurelija!

I just tried to recreate it again, not having done anything to the document color profile, 100% sure to have to send it to you… and it worked as intended.

Maybe it solved itself after a macOS reboot?

Thanks for your work, and I’ll keep you posted if it happens again!

PS: a “default setting” for new documents regarding color depth and profile would be a great addition! ;)

Hi again, Aurelija!

This time the bug is that Export for Web moves everything around.

This is my work in progress, exported via menu Export:

This is what Export for Web does if @3x is selected:

Hi there esedege. If possible, could you send this PXD file over to us at support@pixelmator.com so we could take a closer look?
