Newb here.
I tried several times to make a jpg white background transparent.
Simple image — hard drive with white background.
I seem to have made it work, but when I export to jpg, the white border is back.
Any help appreciated.

The JPEG file format actually doesn't support transparency as it's mainly designed for use with photographic images (rather than graphics or images with transparent areas). The standard file format to use for images with transparency is PNG, so my advice would be to export to PNG instead.

Andrius,
Thank you for your reply.
This will help a lot.

Don’t forget to add another layer on top of the base layer (which is white). Create your art on the new layer and delete the white layer (I’ve done this without remembering to create my art on another layer - if you forget to do this you will end up with a white backgraound rather than transparent). After deleting the white bottom layer go to File and Export to PNG. It should work perfectly!
