Bracketing for HDR photos

What features would you like to see in Pixelmator Pro?

It's mostly for stacking, but in a few different ways:

Panorama: Auto aligns the edges of each image, "straightening" each image using the overlap at the edges

Bracketed Photos: Auto aligning images for HDR merge type stacking, in case of any minor camera shake or slight movement between frames

Focus Stacking: Focus stacking (as you replied in the other thread, could be done manually), would also benefit from auto align for same reason above, in the event of some minor movement between frames

All 3 of these workflows would benefit from some auto alignment feature, even if there wasn't specific support for Pixelmator Photo to handle the stacking/merging, this would allow users to preform those tasks manually without also having to try and perfectly line up each frame.

+1, there isn't a good stand-alone option that I can find on MacOS, having this in Pixelmator (even without auto-align) would be awesome!

by Daniel Fischpan I am getting into real estate photography and it would be great to create HDR photos using bracketing. Please shake the product team until they prioritize this feature next. It stinks that I need to find/pay for another solution just to do HDR photos. On a positive note I am very happy with Pixelmator Pro otherwise.

I'm very surprised this feature doesn't exist and isn't even a priority. Many basic photography course will teach you how bracketing works, and thus the need for software that understands this is important. The slogan "it’s the only image editor you’ll need" is not really accurate for anyone who works in photography.

Yes please HDR photo merging, and panoramic photo merging. There would be no reason to have Lightroom if you add these features.

Bracketing for Phixelmator and PHOTOMATOR is a must.

3 years later and…we still dont have this. As a curious human being, I would very much like to know what is taking precedence over this. I’m sure others would like to know as well.

by Andrius Feature request noted! I can't promise much in the way of shaking, but we are aware of this feature. For now, there are a few other photography-oriented features that we're prioritizing but it's possible we'll add this at some point in the more long-term future.
So Andrius...3 years later where is this at? Are the developers not skilled enough to make it happen? Or are the lead staff over there suffering from a lack of backbone to stand up to Apple to get this added?

Talking of Apple, they've actually presented HDR support in WWDC23. This definitely opens up some gates.

You can find out more about it here:

+1 along with Auto-Align Layers and Auto-Blend Layers

As far as I can tell, this is one of the most requested features in this forum, why not push it up and move a bit faster with it?

I wrote some Applescript for PixPro that I use now to do this. I've spent many hours on it so I've posted it on Etsy to enable others to try it out. See this link - let me know if it works for you or not.
