Joining two imAGES

Probably a simple problem but one which has me stumped. Because of its length I had to scan a panoramic painting in two slightly overlapping images. I want to join these two parts to make one image (for my records). It was a simple operation in Photoshop but I can't work out how to do this in Pixelmator Pro. Any suggestions, please? Dino

Do you need any post at the overlapping seam or just want to reveal the whole panorama which is Image->Reveal Canvas?

I just want to overlap one image on the other to make an invisible join. Thanks for your help.
