Point level stroke thickness adjustment

I am unable to find any way to adjust stroke width along the stroke with shapes and the pen tool.
If this exists, please let me know where.

There are numerous variations of this in other apps, my favorite being Moho Pro which has a stroke width tool - you select the point and drag one direction to make it thicker and the opposite to make it thinner. This makes for an elegant solution to clean vectors with organic shapes to them.
They also have a tool that allows for color blend from point to point along strokes and fills.

While I have used Moho to make some designs, it is an animation tool and is lacking nearly everything else Pixelmator can do...

Some other apps give you a curve in a different window to alter the thickness along the entire length of the curve - I find this one imprecise and therefore not ideal.
