When shooting RAW + JPG, is it possible to toggle between viewing/editing RAW and JPG versions on Photomator for Mac? I know there's a setting to choose which format opens by default, but I'm not sure how to manually override that.

You can only change it in the Photomator settings for now. The ability to do it manually is coming soon and it'll work similarly to how it currently works on iPhone and iPad.

I have a similar question, why am I seeing both JPG and RAW images in Photomator when I have "Open RAW by default"? I assumed I would only see the RAW photos and the JPGs would be hidden.

@JoeSmith the "Open RAW by default" setting doesn't filter your photos to show only one or the other format. It chooses which format is opened if you shoot RAW+JPG pairs. (They show up as a single photo in the UI, and people usually have a default preference of which format to edit in this scenario.)

I'm not sure I'm following. If I shoot RAW+JPG (I do) and have pairs, should I see the JPG and the NEF in the UI or not? I currently see both instead of a single photo. See attached - Image

@nigelw is totally right here. The library displays the format in which the photo is shot but when you edit it, you edit it in the format you chose in the Photomator settings.

When shooting in RAW+JPG format, it should appear as a single photo, and if you shoot in RAW and JPG separately, you'll see two images in your photo library. Could you send the original file to us at support@pixelmator.com? And also walk us through the steps you follow for importing photos? There could be an issue related to how photos are imported into Photomator. 🙏

Yeah, looks like an issue with how you've shot or imported photos. RAW+JPG pairs should show up as one image like this:

(And FWIW they show the same way in Apple's Photos.app.)

Exactly. What a great tip – to check how Apple Photos opens them because Photomator photo library should display them in the same way.

Has this been done in the Mac version, I am looking for it and cannot find it ???

Doesn't seem like it's been implemented yet? Been over half a year, it's a shame such basic functionality is missing from a paid app to begin with 😕

There was a big 3.3.2 update today. Yet I see no way to pick a photo and choose if I want to edit the RAW or the JPEG. Samanta what is happening with this simple yet important feature request ? Even more frustrating the meny option is there on the iPad, but not on the Mac
