Hi! I'm new to Photomator. I want to “show original” often. (In Aperture, this was called “toggle master” or similar.)

I see the button in the top left of the UI to toggle between the original and edited versions. I even see how to activate the draggable slider.

But please tell me there is a way to set a keyboard shortcut as well?

I still have muscle memory from Aperture, in which tapping the M key would toggle to the original. This was great, because I didn't even have to look away from the image, such as to navigate the mouse to a button elsewhere. In Photomator, without a key shortcut, I find it harder to focus on the image, because I have to break focus (visually) to navigate the UI.

Please tell me how to trigger the "show original" view by keyboard shortcut, or tell me this feature is on the way. 😁 Thank you!

Have you tried Control-C or ^-C which enables/disable split screen view ? Not good enough ?

I had the same question a little while back, as the online help documents iPad keyboard shortcuts (I think), and some Mac ones are different. From Photomator support:

On macOS, the keyboard shortcut for Show Original is "\" and the keyboard shortcut for Split Comparison is "Control + C".

Thank you!!! This is it! I cannot believe that shortcut is so hard to find. Much appreciated!

by WilliamSeaton It's possible that Photomator doesn't have a keyboard shortcut for the "show original" function.
It does work. You need to hold the \ key, just like you need to click and hold the toolbar button with the same function.

Yes! The \ backslash key works! It's just not really discoverable, as there is no corresponding menu item. For example, "Split Comparison" appears in the menu, shown with the ctrl-C shortcut.

You are correct. It should be in the view menu. And on iPad must be somewhere since there is no way to use keyboard shortcuts.
