Can I save the image to the original file? And keep the photo creation time? Now what happens is, when I save, he asks me to create a new document.

When you "save" you are creating a NEW pixelmator format document; that's why it asks. If you EXPORT (⌘e) the image in the same format to the same file - I think that is what you want - it will ask you to OVERWRITE the file or create a new one. I think you will have to use another tool to fix/correct/change the file meta data creation time.
