Whilst I understand Pixelmator's thinking in making a Swiss Army Knife, 'graphic' editor, surely splitting Pixelmator Pro into separate apps could be the way to go. Vector paths and shapes are useful in a photo app but all the rest is not.
That way you can concentrate on features photographers want. e.g. HDR merge, Panorama merge & Focus stacking. I personally don't give a tinker's cuss about Xmas templates etc.

Lose all the 'Draw' features - not needed in a Photo editing app. Make a separate Draw App. Keep it simple.

I disagree. Having Draw and Paint tools separate made sense in the 1980s, but today it is a burden to have to keep switching back and forth, and remember different interfaces for each program. (I use Affinity Designer when Pixelmator's tools aren't enough.) My work involves both sets of tools on almost every page, so I'd love a unified program that does everything I need with a consistent interface.
