Very frustrating. Can someone please explain to why a 6mb webp file, after a very simple edit with the repair tool, when exported back as a webp file ends up being just short of 30mb‽ The same with other webp files — always around a five fold increase in the file size.

Can someone please explain.

I guess it´s because you´re exporting at 100% Quality. Same will happen with JPEG btw.

I thought 100% would be a facsimile of the original, it doesn’t increase the quality?

WebP is a lossy file format and pretty sure you don´t receive a 100% quality file - So you can not get back lost information only by dragging a slider to the right.
