Why do text and SVG shapes pixelate when zooming in??

Sometimes I have to work with small type (5pt) and small shapes, and when I zoom in to 400-800% or more, they appear horribly pixelated as though they are bitmaps. Was hoping it would be fixed years ago. 2023 and still not fixed.
