Scroll past edges of the image canvas

I registeredjust to request this very feature. Like the others, I often find that I need to work onthe edges of an image, and I like to move whatever I'm working on to the dead center of the screen. Can't do that in Pixelmator in fullscreen mode, and in windowed mode it is also unsatisfactory due to the absence of a visual, non-clickable buffer around the image. PLEASE FIX THIS! It's the programs's biggest flaw.

This has been bugging me for a while now.
I use the polygon lasso tool to all the time to cut images and need to be able to take the selection all the way over the image and into the black border to the side, this is so I can accurately select the areas I need. Not being able to zoom in to the very corner of the image whilst still showing the black border surrounding it is useless for me.
Pixelmator, please make this happen!
On a similar note, Photoshop on my PC allows this but doesn't on my work Mac, does anyone know if there is a preference to change this?

+a lot . This missing feature is the biggest thing that annoys me about Pixelmator. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I seem to remember it being a feature before the fullscreen feature was added. Fine tuning pixels at the edge of my screen is so awkward!

Please have an option for this. very very important !!
Working on the edge is nearly impossible without extending the canvas then cropping once done.

+1 to this. and/or maybe some sort of 'artboard' feature that lets me draw outside the bounds and then bring it into the canvas if i want to, all the while keeping the current canvas edges (for exporting/previewing/etc). Literally the only real issue I have with pixelmator - this application is pretty amazing

This is seriously one of the very few reasons why I still prefer using Photoshop than Pixelmator for some tasks. With this, Pixelmator would be absolutely perfect.

+1 — I'm so happy that many others yearn for this feature too.
